The sky blue color of the front of the wings and the silver color black dots on the back characterize the naiad. 

This butterfly is a common species in the Balearic Islands and especially frequent in forest environments and humid environments such as torrents.

Curiously, these environments have recorded an exceptionally high abundance in the Islands compared to those that occur on the continent thanks to citizen science. Although this species suffers strong population oscillations between years, in recent decades the populations have remained stable in the Balearic Islands and in the Mediterranean region in general.
